    AAL Call 5: ICT-based Solutions for (Self) Management of Daily Life Activities of Older Adults at Home 

    The fifth AAL call for proposals is expected to be launched at the end of February 2012 and will be open for three months. Call Title: ICT-based Solutions for (Self) Management of Daily Life Activities of Older Adults at Home. The online application procedure is organized centrally by the AAL Association. The Swiss AAL funding budget for 2012 amounts to EUR 4 million. Research institutions, companies and end-user organizations are eligible for funding.     AAL: Nationaler Informationstag am 1. April in Zürich 

    Invitation for this year’s national AAL information event in Zurich on 1 April 2011, hosted by the ICT Accessibility Group of the Swiss Informatics Society and the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology (OPET). AAL Info-Event Zürich 2011

    The event addresses all Swiss stakeholders interested in participating in the upcoming AAL call 4; it will give an overview of the AAL Joint Programme, provide essential information on call 4 (subjects, application procedure, funding rules etc.) and present a showcase of a running AAL project in Switzerland.

    Please note that two transnational AAL information and networking events are also being organized in the context of AAL call 4:

    Brussels, 7 April 2011: European AAL information and networking day

    Innsbruck, 11 April 2011 Joint Austrian-German-Swiss AAL information and networking day

    Geneva, 15 April 2011 Joint French-Swiss AAL information and networking day at the University of Geneva

    The events in Brussels, Geneva and Innsbruck will also feature a networking session to give potential project partners from different fields and countries the opportunity to discuss their project ideas and establish valuable contacts.

    AAL-News: Neue Regeln und neuer Call 

    Vorankündigung 4. Call:

    The AAL Association (http://www.aal-europe.eu/) has pre-announced the 4th call for proposals of the AAL Joint Programme. The call aims at ICT based solutions which help older persons to sustain their optimal level of mobility for as long as possible, enhancing their individual sense of confidence, autonomy, competence, security and safety. The call addresses issues that inherently enable older persons’ mobility in the sense of moving in the home and/or outside the home. (Mehr…)

    Basic Mobility – adapted environment or assistive technologies.

    Home Training – prevent loss of physical mobility.

    This Email is to inform you about developments in the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Joint Programme.

    1. Participation of Switzerland in the Programme AAL:

    On 20th October 2010 the Swiss Federal Council approved the participation of Switzerland in the R&D Programme “Ambient Assisted Living“ (AAL). The objective of AAL is to enhance the quality of life of older people and strengthen the industrial base in Europe through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The programme runs from 2008 until 2013 with a total budget of 700 million Euro. (Mehr…)

    AAL Abkommen vom Bundesrat genehmigt 

    Der Bundesrat hat ein Abkommen genehmigt, das der Schweiz die Teilnahme am Programm „Ambient Assisted Living“ (AAL) ermöglicht. AAL ist ein europäisches Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprogramm, das auf den demografischen Wandel in Europa reagiert. Im Hinblick auf den wachsenden Anteil älterer Menschen in der Bevölkerung unterstützt es Forschungsvorhaben, die die Gesundheit und Lebensqualität im Alter verbessern. An der ZHAW bestehen bereits Aktivitäten in diesem Programm.
